Yep, he/she’s in there!

Things are definitely getting exciting in the baby dept. Yesterday was our second prenatal appointment, and I went along with Johanna because this was the one where we would be listening for a heartbeat. But we got a little more than we expected – pictures!
The people at St. Marks said that the equipment they usually use wasn’t picking anything up. Sometimes that happens because the position of the baby is a little hard to find this early on. So they sent us down the street to a place that does ultrasounds, and they were able to find things right away. So we extend a welcome to our little bean!
Here you can see that he/she has a strong heartbeat – which was actually really neat to hear! It came through loud and clear when we went to the ultrasound place. I think it was a lot better than the other equipment would have been able to pick up.
And here you can see little beanie-baby Dodge looking out at the world. Something tells me that this little guy/gal is saying “What the heck are you doing? I am trying to sleep in here…”

Hooray!! I’m excited for another nephew or niece. I know Sarah and Michael Andrew want a delivery room surprise. What about you guys? You wanna know if it’s a boy or a girl before it arrives??

Heck yes we want to know! We are all (she and I, her parents, etc.) hoping for a girl, actually, but I am fine with either. We are having trouble coming up with names for a boy, but have three names for girls settled on. Pay attention to future posts for a poll on boy names (if it is indeed a boy).
