I could write some really detailed description of how today played out for James, but thanks to Johanna’s Facebook play-by-play and the magic of screen-capture, I’ll just re-post what she did: (continue reading…)

Getting Caught-Up with Summer Pictures
by Mike on Sep.19, 2009, under General, Kidz, Married Life, Technobabble
We’re sure many of you are wondering why there are so few posts coming in here as of late. We may refer to it as the ‘Facebook effect’ – since the vast majority of our friends are on Facebook, a lot of the smaller updates go there, and the blog goes without updating. But every once in a while, we will get on here and post photos – because a lot of our extended family doesn’t do the whole Facebook thing, but they will visit the family website to see pictures of the kids. Don’t Drink the Water
by Mike on Feb.20, 2009, under Kidz
Once again, James is sick. He has been throwing up for two days (last night it was all over the bedsheets that we had just washed the day before). Right now it is so bad he can’t even keep down a drink for more than a few minutes. We are going to try some chicken broth by spoonfulls, just to try and get him some nourishment…but it makes me wonder if he will ever get the idea that drinking Chewie’s water is not good for him.
Granted, that might not be what happened this time…but he has a history of putting disgusting things in his mouth. Just the other day, I caught him licking the underside of the kitchen table. Who knows what kind of stuff you’d find there?!?!

Things that go BUMP! in the night

The other night Johanna and I were talking before bed, and I put hand on her pumpkin-shaped belly…and BUMP! Like something out of Alien (except a whole lot less scary) her stomach was moving! I kept my hand there, just to be sure, and BUMP! There it went again!
It’s kinda exciting to feel the baby moving. She’s been telling me for months “He’s flipping somersaults in there!” but to actually experience it for myself, that’s something entirely new to me!
