Yesterday, we found a toy microphone while cleaning the house…and it led to a fun activity idea. I grabbed the camera, we set up a table and papers, and in no time we were filming “The Dodge Family News!” I doubt this will become a regular broadcast or anything, but the kids sure enjoyed it. A lot of fun. Here’s the low-quality version for online viewing pleasure.

It has been a while since I have updated on the blog, I will try to do better:)
A few weeks ago My nephew Andrew was confronted by two men in a car. They asked him and his friend if they wanted some candy. Andrew said no and tried to walk away but one of the men grabbed him by the arm. His friend then told the man to let Andrew go and started to make a scene. The man let Andrew go and took off in his car. Andrew and his friend immediately went to get their parents, the police were called, and the whole neighborhood was out looking for the car. Luckily for our family this did not end a different way.
The next Family home evening we had we did role playing with the kids. Mike pretended he was a stranger and we let them practice what to do if a stranger ever tried to talk to or take one of them. This is the second time We have done this and Aiden is getting better at recognizing situations. I encourage everyone to role play with their kids. They will know better what to do if the situation ever happens to them.

We’re sure many of you are wondering why there are so few posts coming in here as of late. We may refer to it as the ‘Facebook effect’ – since the vast majority of our friends are on Facebook, a lot of the smaller updates go there, and the blog goes without updating. But every once in a while, we will get on here and post photos – because a lot of our extended family doesn’t do the whole Facebook thing, but they will visit the family website to see pictures of the kids. Hence today’s blog post. Read the rest of this entry »
I have been spending a lot of time this weekend migrating several websites and all related email from my in-house server to a dedicated web host…and I think I am done. Who would have thought that it would take 2 days to move 3+ gigs of email and web data around. Anywho, the website should run a WHOLE lot faster now that it isn’t being served up over a residential internet connection.
