Getting Caught-Up with Summer Pictures

DSCF3480.JPG

We’re sure many of you are wondering why there are so few posts coming in here as of late. We may refer to it as the ‘Facebook effect’ – since the vast majority of our friends are on Facebook, a lot of the smaller updates go there, and the blog goes without updating. But every once in a while, we will get on here and post photos – because a lot of our extended family doesn’t do the whole Facebook thing, but they will visit the family website to see pictures of the kids. Hence today’s blog post. Read the rest of this entry »

Carrots and Potatoes, Glen Style

James is so cute

James said something the other day that I have to repeat.
We were getting ready to go to the library on Monday and Mike told James to go get some pants on. He went upstairs to find some, then he comes running back to Mike saying,”Daddy, Mommy washed my pants for I can wear them, her nice.” Mike proceeds to correct his grammar, I just thought it was cute.

Things that go BUMP! in the night

The other night Johanna and I were talking before bed, and I put hand on her pumpkin-shaped belly…and BUMP! Like something out of Alien (except a whole lot less scary) her stomach was moving! I kept my hand there, just to be sure, and BUMP! There it went again!

It’s kinda exciting to feel the baby moving. She’s been telling me for months “He’s flipping somersaults in there!” but to actually experience it for myself, that’s something entirely new to me!

My cup runeth over

A few days ago, Aiden was playing next door with his friends. I came out to check on him, and he was already walking towards our house “flowers” in hand. He said here mommy I picked these for you. I took them and thanked him profusely for the lovely flowers, and told him I would go put them in water. The smile on his face was so big it made my heart jump for joy, knowing that this simple exchange between mother and son brought so much joy into both our lives. We exchanged our I love yous and both went on our way. Even though the “flowers” he gave me were dandelions, I put them in a cup of water and displayed them proudly. These really are the moments worth living for.
