Tonight I tried to feed glen some carrots and potatoes. He will not open his mouth. I have to make him laugh just to get the spoon through, but lately he won’t even do that. He is becoming wise to my tactics. so finally I said, “here you do it” and I put down the spoon and bowl of food on his tray. He immediately picked up the spoon, opened his mouth wide and stuck the spoon in. All this time he just wanted to do it himself!

Christmas List (Mike version)

Johanna and I have been telling each other that we need to find time to go Christmas shopping, but before we do that we need to put together Christmas lists of what we want. Normally I am not the type of person to put together a list, it makes me feel needy. But this time around, I thought we could turn this into something a little more fun. So I am posting my list online for all my friends and family to see.

Chances are that none of you are going to buy me anything on here (though I wouldn’t complain… wink wink). But a Christmas list gives you a little glimpse at what makes us tick – the things we enjoy and dream about, what our priorities are, that sort of thing.

Later on I will try and convince Johanna to post hers as well. It might be kind of interesting to see if there is any overlap. But for now…

My Mom’s Birthday

Saturday was my mom’s birthday, I still don’t know how old she is, when I asked my dad said, “I think she is somewhere in her thirty’s”. I let it drop, I took it as a subtle hint. Mike and I drove up to Logan to give her present to her. We were just chilling waiting for the rest of the gang to show up and my mom asks, “so are you pregnant yet?” I said “NO” something is wrong with Mike, we know I work it is all his fault. They all laughed and said I had a lot of tact. When My siblings showed up I asked my dad if he had any chocolate milk, he always has it so when he said he didn’t I was surprised. He said I’ll just run out and get some. later that day when I was happily drinking my chocolate milk my sister in law Rebecca and my dad were talking and he mentioned that I had a craving for chocolate milk and that he HAD to go get me some. Rebecca turned to me with a surprised look on her face and I had to defend myself once again. I am not pregnant where are you getting this. Finally it was time to open presents. We gave my mom a little bag that wasn’t very heavy, she grabbed it first to open. She rummaged through the paper having a hard time finding the gift. Finally she found it. Her eyes went wide and she started waving a little stick in the air. Yes, I lied we are pregnant. And it took all I had to come up with excuses as to why I was NOT pregnant that day! I hope you enjoyed this blog. We sure did!

Happy Week-iversary!

We’ve been married a week! We got back from the honeymoon, hugged the kids to death when we got back, and got the honeymoon pictures developed…blasted fun-saver cameras take crappy pictures at night.

Hopefully we will be starting to upload pictures of Vegas sometime soon, but they were so grainy or dark, I don’t know how much I will be able to rescue. Only time will tell.

Today we moved the bunk-bed from Johanna’s old apartment to our house, and the kids were excited. We also went to the optometrist so Johanna could get some contacts (her prescription was OLD, now she is seeing me clearly for the first time…and she didn’t run screaming!) We have to give mad thanks to AJ for helping us out. My insurance doesn’t cover the family until April, but we needed these immediately. AJ saved us over $100 at his store. Anyone wanting great glasses/contacts, fast service, and a quality experience should go to Eyeglass World on 6100 S. and State.

In other news, work is going great. My cousin Allan is interviewing with Love next week to see if they will hire him on as a “Final Cut Pro” guru for some big stuff they have coming. Rehearsals for “The Hasty Heart” are going very well, and I will have complimentary tickets soon for those of you who are interested. The number will be limited, so if you don’t get one from me fast, then please buy some tickets. Johanna’s rehearsals are going well also, but you will have to read her post (if she makes one) for the lowdown on that.

Job Offer – or – I’m in Love

In late November, an email just landed in my inbox from a gentleman at Love Communications. Apparently he googled for PHP developers and found my website, mikezilla.us. I scheduled an interview, since I was very interested in changing jobs at the time…

Well, the interview went well, but at the time the higher-ups in the company didn’t want to invest in the position that I was interviewing for. I kept in contact with him through late January, but nothing was happening, and for the most part assumed that nothing would.

Now, today, there was another email from ‘em. And yes, I have a new job. The pay is the same as what I was making with ClearLink in December, but the benefits are much better IMHO, and the environment is a refreshing change. Not only that, but I will be starting up the web development department for them, since I am their first full-time web developer!

More to come on this, but I am excited to say the least!
